On December 16, 2010, the U.S. Department of Commerce Department issued its “Green Paper” on privacy, entitled “Commercial Data Privacy and Innovation in the Internet Economy: A Dynamic Policy Framework,” outlining its privacy recommendations and proposed initiatives including the establishment of enforceable codes of conduct and a Privacy Policy Office in the Department of Commerce.
